GREENEAZY: PLANTS THAT MITIGATE POLLUTION

saving Cities One Plant at a Time!

FESR European Regional Development Fund – Lazio Regional Operational Program

The project aims to develop Greeneazy Light, the first web platform to support the design of green areas optimized for the mitigation of pollutants ever created in the world.
The idea stems from the desire to promote the use of urban greenery as a tool of sustainability. Green areas have known beneficial effects, including the ability to absorb different types of pollutants in the air. Projects aimed for this purpose require multidisciplinary skills, laborious planning and are often expensive. Management can also be complex and, above all, it is not possible to verify the actual amount of pollutants absorbed. Over the years Ecobubble has produced some innovative NBS (Nature-Based Solution) type solutions, protected by 3 patent applications, to automate these processes. Greeneazy Light will make it possible to integrate these solutions by facilitating and optimizing both the design and management of green areas capable of mitigating pollutants. GEL combines different technologies: phytoremediation (which studies how plants mitigate pollutants), multispectral analysis (for the active monitoring of the luxuriance of plants) and machine learning (to build adaptive management and selection models).
Greeneazy is data-driven, i.e. it synergistically exploits data from laboratories, scientific literature, sensors, field validations, to offer increasingly effective designs. Thanks to Green Easy you can:
– select the best performing plants for the chosen sustainability objectives;
– quantify the mitigated pollutants;
– choose the spatial distribution of vegetation;
– be informed about the management and costs of the project.
Alongside the design, the platform offers additional modules for landfill remediation, water management, plant luxuriance control and noise abatement, managed as independent services that can be activated on request. Greeneazy is therefore a complete system that can be used as a subscription service by different users: green planners, public administrations, designers and builders of smart-green buildings, companies engaged in carbon neutrality, companies specialized in green roofs, site administrators to be reclaimed and recovered, managers of historical / archaeological sites, farms (especially organic), private citizens, etc.
